Two free museums for a family day in Naju
The Children’s Experience Center at the Namdo Righteous Army History Museum and the children’s facilities at the National Naju Museum are both free. The main condition is reservation: check availability before leaving, especially for the first museum and the immersive-content sessions.
1. Namdo Righteous Army History Museum
The children’s center introduces the history of the righteous armies through interactive exhibits, archery, and training activities. Advance booking through Naver is required by the day before the visit. If you miss that deadline, call first to ask about remaining spaces or same-day cancellations. During our visit, same-day capacity was more relaxed than expected.
The hands-on activities can finish quickly. It is worth asking whether the first-floor children’s facility is offering the Namdo righteous-army mood-light craft so the visit can include a longer making activity.

2. National Naju Museum
The children’s museum presents Mahan and the ancient tomb culture of the Yeongsan River area through learning materials and excavation activities. The first-floor immersive-content hall uses large screens across the walls and floor to tell stories about the Sinchon-ri tombs and artifacts.
Sessions begin every 30 minutes and accept 30 people. Advance booking is available, but visitors can register on site when seats remain. A useful route is to first see the real Naju Seoseongmun Stone Lantern and the Sinchon-ri gilt-bronze crown near the permanent exhibition entrance, then continue to the children’s museum and immersive hall.

마한과 영산강 유역 고분 문화를 교구와 발굴 체험으로 접할 수 있습니다. 1층 실감콘텐츠 체험관은 벽과 바닥을 감싸는 대형 화면으로 신촌리 고분과 유물 이야기를 보여 줍니다.
상영은 30분 단위이며 회차당 정원은 30명입니다. 자리가 남으면 현장 접수도 가능합니다. 먼저 상설전시실 입구의 나주 서성문 안 석등과 신촌리 금동관 실물을 보고 어린이박물관과 실감콘텐츠로 이동하는 동선을 추천합니다.
