APA paper format: the numbers to set first
For a basic APA-style student paper, start with four measurements: 2.54 cm margins on every side, double spacing, a 1.27 cm first-line indent, and the page number at the top right. Times New Roman 12 pt is a common choice; Arial or Calibri 11 pt is also accepted in many APA 7 contexts.

The usual order of a paper
- Title page: title, author, institution, course or instructor, and submission date.
- Abstract: normally 150 to 250 words when an abstract is required.
- Main text: introduction, method, results, discussion, and conclusion as appropriate for the assignment.
- References: every source cited in the paper, arranged alphabetically.
In-text citations
